• The reasoning behind Siphon

  If you look at what Google is doing, I’m trying to do the same thing – any information any where, with useful applications to utilize it. But where they pay for their bandwidth and storage – I’ll just let you use yours! There is no way that Sharpset can compete with the major players in size or ability to execute. So my only choice is to innovate.

• The need Siphon is trying to fill (for me)

How to use Siphon

1. Register for service
2. Download client for your device (or not)
3. Enter in the login information
4. Start inputting ideas, links, appointments, contact info, goals, dreams. Know that they are going to be stored on some server that probably won’t get stolen or destroyed, or shut down* .
• Come back each day to quickly check your Inbox of ideas and decide what to do about them – write about things, make plans for the future.

Where Siphon is heading

1. Public Keys being passed out
2. Everyone’s info encrypted on the server
3. Chat and other collaborative features

Do I have to pay?

1. No. I’m not trying to charge people right now. The point of this software is to a) make a system that people could use to their benefit and b) give me a more solid understanding of Ruby on Rails. Please don’t be surprised if you start seeing banner ads to offset some hosting costs.
